
Lynn Walters - Songwriter
An
entertainer of 25yrs+ experience, Lynn started her career playing bass guitar
and singing lead vocals in local bands which include: Tara, Riji-dij, Bandit
and Bad Habits. She has played at RSAs Cossie Clubs, Pubs and Private
Functions in New Zealand and Australia. With a voice that has been likened to - Diana Krall, K.D. Laing, Sarah
Vaughn and in the field of nostalgic music, Dame Vera Lynn, Lynn is a hugely
popular choice.
Lynn established
herself as an excellent songwriter,
winning many awards for her efforts including NZCMA Songwriter of the Year 1995
and producing an album of ten original songs titled 'Follow Your Dream.' In 2007
Canadian singing sensation
Sheryl-Dawn Ryan recorded three of Lynn's original songs, "Follow Your Dream; Here Comes Love and I Heard About Cowboys."on her debut album, "I Believe In Me'.
"I Heard About Cowboys" was a finalist at the prestigious
MLT Song writing Awards 2004 and is included on the MLT Songwriters Trust
compilation cd, titled, 'The Writers Cut' 2004.
Since 2005 Lynn has been competing in the Opotiki
Charity Concert NZ Song writing competition, writing humorous
songs about NZ life, winning still more awards with -

In 2005, Lynn met Peace Ambassador J. Reuben Silverbird - Apache Elder - Musician and Orator and was so inspired by his wonderful songwriting and performance talents and efforts on behalf of peace that she wrote a peace song titled "Just Like You'. Lynn was further applauded for her talents by the Universal Peace Federation when she was given the "Music for Peace Award".
