LYNN WALTERS.......

An entertainer of 20yrs+ experience, Lynn started her career playing bass guitar and singing lead vocals in local bands, Tara, Riji-dij, Bandit and Bad Habits playing RSA’s Cossie Clubs, Pubs and Private Functions over a period of 14 years. Lynn's voice has been likened to - Diana Krall, k.d. Laing, Sarah Vaughn and Vera Lynn.

She established herself as an excellent songwriter, winning many awards for her efforts including NZCMA Songwriter of the Year 1995 and producing an album of ten original songs titled “Follow Your Dream.  Two songs off the album, "Follow Your Dream and Here Comes Love," have recently been recorded by Canadian singing sensation Sheryl-Dawn Ryan. Sheryl-Dawn has also recorded another of Lynn's original hits, "I Heard About Cowboys" which is also on the MLT Songwriters Trust compilation cd of 2005.

Lynn has lately been competing in the Opotiki Charity Concert NZ Songwriting competition, writing humourous songs about NZ life, winning still more awards with - "Me and the Possums' - 2005,  "A Wigwam for a Gooses' Bridle - 2007 and "The Longdrop" - 2008. Look out for these songs on her next cd.

In 1999, Lynn travelled to Australia to appear at Caboolture and Pine Rivers RSL’s and in 2000 she and fellow musician, Kip Tipuna were the hired by the Maritime Museum to be the resident entertainment aboard The Spirit of NZ, during the Americas Cup Regattas and consequently during the Cup defence.

THE VERA LYNN TRIBUTE SHOW

In 2000, Lynn produced and starred in The Vera Lynn Tribute Show, with NZ Entertainment icon, Mr Chic Littlewood and “The Stardust Band." The show was performed at The Bruce Mason Theatre, The Pumphouse Theatre, The Rose Garden Theatre and The Avondale College Theatre with great success and in the words of one ardent fan, “Lynn does Vera Lynn, better than Vera Lynn!”

Since 1998, Lynn has worked in a duo with fabulous jazz guitarist/vocalist, Kip Tipuna: Since 2005 as bass player/vocalist with Sixties Band, Momentum, which features vocalist, Heather Boyed as well as performing solo accommpanying herself on guitar and singing jazz, country, pop and blues.

REST HOMES, RETIREMENT VILLAGES, OVER 60'S PROBUS ETC.

Lynn  takes great pleasure in performing for the elderly and has a one hour show of nostalgic sing-a-longs.  During these performances, she takes great pains to ensure her audience is as involved as possible, incorporating quiz games into her repertoire.

When she is not performing Vera Lynn or other songs of that nostalgic ilk, Lynn performs at various restaurants around Auckland, e.g. Santa Lucia, Café Jazz, The Alhambra, providing pleasing background music in her own unique style, incorporating, originals, jazz, blues, country and contemporary music backing herself on acoustic guitar. She is also available with her band  "Moondance", playing jazz and swing, great for dance nights etc.
